A Day of Fun in The Sun!

On the 18th of August, Shaun and I were able to spend the day with our friends Christie and Matt. It was a lot of fun! Our first stop was river rafting down the Provo River! It is always so fun! This was the third year that we have run the Provo River!

This year was slightly eventful. There is a point in the river that there are two bridges that they instructed you to get out of the river and walk around them. Well we get to this point and there were two other rafts getting out at the same time as us.  We didn't quite go into the shore the angle that we needed to and so we ended up heading towards the bridges. Luckily the people from the other rafts came to grab us and Shaun quickly jumped out. The only problem with this was that is the process of all of this happening Shaun lost his paddle. We were able to see that someone down river got it and so we knew it would make it back to were it needed to go. We were eventually able to catch up to the guy that picked it up and got it back so we could return it.

After our river rafting adventure we headed to Seven Peaks in Provo. I hadn't ever been before, but I do have to say it was A LOT of fun! I think it is WAY better than Seven Peaks in SLC (formerly know as Raging Waters). They have a lot more slide options and everything just seemed nicer!

All in all it was a great day!

Thanks Christie and Matt for sharing your pictures with us!

Color Me Mine

In the last month I have been able to go to Color Me Mine twice! I serious love it there! It is so much fun. I love being able to be creative and just have fun.

The first trip we while our friend Sarah and her son Kenny were in town. Along with Sarah and Kenny, the group consisted of Shaun, Michelle (Shaun's Mom), Rachel (Sarah's daughter) and me!

Shaun and I weren't sure what to do, so we decided to do a group project! We ended up making a cookie jar. Shaun worked on the lid and I did the jar portion! It was a lot of fun!

Scrumptious!
The final product
The second trip was with Michelle. Shaun and Kim (his Dad) went to the Father/Son campout  for our ward, so we made a girls night of it.  This trip I made coasters. There is a technique that you use lace with that I have wanted to try for a while now and I finally did it! I think the coaster turned out great!
A work in progress!
All done!
If you look closely at the last picture you can see that the corner of the coaster is chipped. It was this way when I picked it up and it made me kind of mad. I put a lot of work into the coasters. I called them and told that what I found and they told me that I can bring it in and they will look at it and that I will most like get to repaint my item again!

It's been FOUR YEARS!!!

That's right, it has officially been four years since Shaun and I first said I do! They have honestly been some of the best, hardest, funnest, and amazing years of my life! I am SO glad I met Shaun! He is an amazing guy!

This year we opted to not go on a weekend getaway. Instead we went to dinner and then to see WICKED!!!!  It was really fun evening. We went to dinner at Olive Garden, which provided some good pre-show entertainment. There was a table with a mom and some teens near as. They were talking about how teens don't check Facebook any more. It is just for old people, those who are like 25-50. Shaun and I both thought that was pretty funny! The show itself was AMAZING!! I LOVE WICKED! This is the second time we have seen it now and it was just as great as the first time! I can't wait to see it again!

Kruger Family Vacation 2012

This year was the Bi-Annual Kruger Family Vacation and for this trip we headed out to Indiana. We flew in Friday evening and headed to Lafayette. On Saturday our nephew James turned 8 and was baptized! We spent the rest of the day celebrating his birthday and baptism! They had a pinata, which everyone seemed to love... It broke off the rope, so to fix it Kari put clear box tape on it. That made for some fun.

Sunday morning we checked out of our hotel and then headed to church with Bryon and Kari's family. Our family (6 additional adults) almost doubled their branch! After church we headed back to Byron and Kari's to hang out until we could go to the house we were renting for the rest of the week!

We stayed at the Dogwood Springs Guesthouse and it was AMAZING!! This house was huge! We had a private lake to play on, a fire pit, a golf cart to explore in, a pool table and so much more. It was a pretty awesome house!

While there we headed to Indianapolis to visit the Indianapolis Speedway. That was honestly pretty cool. In the museum they had the winning cars from the last 100 years of the Indy 500. The winner in 1911 won the race going an average of 70 mph and the winner in 2011 won going an average of 170 mph!  I thought that was crazy! We were also able to do a lap on the race track itself! That was pretty cool.

Another outing we did was to Cataract Falls, Indiana's largest waterfalls. Umm... lets just say they weren't very impressive, but that happens during a drought.

We spent a lot of time out on the lake. There was a paddle boat, a row boat, and a floating dock. Shaun and Tom (brother) bought radio controlled boats that they spent a lot of time racing! It was fun to watch them.

All in all it was a great vacation! I can't wait for the next one!

Hiking with the Cub Scout

Shaun and the other leaders took the cub scouts for a hike on the White Pine Trail up Little Cottonwood Canyon in July and I decided to tag along. It was a fun hike (at least the portion we did... We stopped at the waterfall/river). While we were waiting for the rest of the group to make it to the top the boys were playing in the water and having fun.

While we were waiting I stepped and felt something pop in my left knee! It hurt if I twisted my leg the wrong way, but I made it down the mountain! We decided to wait to have it looked at just to see if it got feeling any better, but by Saturday afternoon after we got home from our ward camp out (which was fun... ) it wasn't doing any better so we decided to go get it looked at. We went to Instacare and the doctor pocked at it and had a couple x-rays taken. The result was I had sprained the tendon in my knee and I got to wear a lovely new fashion accessory for the next 2 weeks... A knee brace! For me!

One Day, Two Events!

July 7th this year was a pretty great day! Not only was it Shaun's 30th birthday, but it was the day that Shaun and I were sealed for time and ALL ETERNITY in the Draper Utah Temple! It was amazing to be able to spend the day in the temple with my husband and our families and friend

The sealing was a really cute old man. He was so nice. You could tell he had been doing this for awhile! My temple escort was amazing!  She was really nice and so helpful! The whole experience was amazing! I am grateful for all the family and friends who came to support us!

Later in the evening we had a party to celebrate Shaun's 30th birthday and Our sealing! It was a lot of fun. We ate and talked and just had fun! It was a great way to end such an amazing day!

Here a few of my favorite pictures from the day:

4th of July 2012

This year on the 4th of July we headed up to Promontory Point, aka Golden Spike, with Shaun's parents, his Grandpa, and Sarah and Kenny (a family friend and her son). It was pretty fun. We were able to watch a steam demonstration, which taught us all about how the locomotives run, and then we watch a reenactment of the driving of the Golden Spike. They didn't have enough cast members so they asked for volunteers from the audience. Shaun's Dad Kim got volunteered, so it was fun watching him!

The only problem with the outing was all of the bugs. We were getting eaten alive! I had one bug start crawling in my hair and bit me! It hurt! The rest of the day was spent playing games and just hanging out with family and friends. We didn't end up watching any fireworks, but that's okay. :)

Our First Demolition Derby

Last Saturday Shaun and I went to our first demolition derby with our friends Christie and Matt. I wasn't sure about it in the beginning. It was kind of slow the first two rounds, but once we got to the third and fourth round it was AWESOME!! We had seats on the second row and a lot of the action seemed to happen on our end of the arena, so needless to see we got sprayed with mud and different fluids from the cars. The wind definitely didn't help with this. Shaun has an awesome idea for the next time we go to one... Plexiglass! I think it is a GREAT idea.

Here are some pictures:
